The 2024 annual conference will be a joint conference with the Minnesota Association of Floodplain Managers, to be held Nov. 13-15 in Austin, Minnesota.

Conference attendees consist of federal, state and local government officials, planners, engineers, consultants, researchers, educators, watershed organizations, realtors, appraisers, and insurance agents. The conference agenda will focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain management guidance, recovery programs, flood control projects, case studies, and mapping. IIHR's Iowa Flood Center will participate to demonstrate key tools and resources available through the Iowa Flood Information System (https://ifis.iowafloodcenter.org/ifis/) and to share the work of the $97 million Iowa Watershed Approach program on helping Iowans address flood risks at the watershed scale and to become more flood resilient.
