IFC employee shows kids the watershed model outside the LACMRERS facility on the Mississippi River

The Iowa Flood Center (IFC) regularly engages in K–12 outreach and education, offering a range of learning opportunities for students and educators. These include classroom visits focused on watershed education, as well as field trips to IFC facilities where students can explore our tools, data, and research and learn how large-scale watershed science helps keep communities safer.
In addition to in-person programming, the IFC provides educational resources and classroom materials to support teachers in introducing topics such as watersheds, weather forecasting, and flood science. Explore the modules below to learn how the IFC can support student learning and enhance existing curriculum.
