Daniel Ceynar

Project Engineer
Biography
I am a project engineer at the Iowa Flood Center (IFC). My work focuses on remote sensing, instrumentation design and deployment, and project management. Some current projects include the IFC's ultrasonic stream-stage sensors, the IFC rain gauge network, the Iowa Watershed Approach, and the mobile radar initiative, which uses four mobile X-band polarimetric radars to improve our understanding of the physics of precipitation events. I am a lifelong Iowan and a University of Iowa graduate who fully appreciates Iowa's four distinct seasons and the respective outdoor activities. I especially enjoy canoeing Iowa's many beautiful rivers and am a long-term supporter of canoe-based environmental clean-ups, both as participant and coordinator. Beyond engineering, my background includes experience as a truck mechanic, welder, machinist, and construction worker.
